Y.W. "Bill" Rogers, Jr., 76, of Center, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in a Shreveport hospital. He was born February 28, 1932 in Center to Dr. Y.W. "Hap" Rogers, Sr. and Ercyle Crawford Rogers. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America. He was also a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Center. He served in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957. Mr. Rogers received a Bachelor's Degree from Baylor in 1953, and a Master's Degree in 1958.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Center with Rev. Carl Smith and Louis Muldrow officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.
