Wayne Sherrod , 80, of Center, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020, in Nacogdoches.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Asbury Chapel Cemetery in Shelby County.

Born May 30, 1940, Wayne is the son of the late P.J. Sherrod and Merline Brittain Sherrod. He worked as an auto mechanic and also served as President of Asbury Chapel Cemetery Association.

He is survived by his sister, Jean Forrest of Center; nephew, Shannon Sherrod and wife Melissa of Chireno; great niece, Christina Sherrod of Lufkin; numerous cousins; other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, P.J. Sherrod and Merline Brittain Sherrod; brother, Johnny Sherrod; and brother-in-law, James Forrest.
