Vivian Weaver Menefee, 100, of Center, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 at her home. She was born May 10, 1908 in Aldridge, Texas to Matthew Weaver and Annie Short Weaver. Ms. Menefee was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Center for over 70 years, where she had also taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She was Preceptor Upsilon of Beta Sigma Phi for over 60 years. Ms. Menefee also served on the board of M.H.M.R. Ms. Menefee's survivors are her daughter, Mary Anna Menefee of Center: sisters-in-law, Charlyce Menefee of Tenaha, Texas and Inez Menefee Schluens of Garden Ridge, Texas: great nephew, Sam D. McDaniel of Austin; great nieces; Pat Sanders Jones of Monroe, Louisiana and Melanie McElfatrick of Tyler, Texas: Nieces; Sally Jo Stiernberg of Texas City, Texas, Lou Ellen Langston of Lufkin, Texas, Mollie Holland of Garden Ridge, Texas, Melissa Covington of Tenaha, Texas: Nephews; Mitch Menefee of Tenaha, Texas, Joe Ralph Menefee of Tenaha, Texas, Leland Menefee of Mt. Pleasant, Texas: numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Ms. Menefee was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Annie Short Weaver; husband, Richard Menefee; brother, Gordon Weaver; sister, Eula McElfatrick; nephew, Tim Menefee; nieces, Elizabeth McDaniel Wright and Doris Harbuck.
