Virginia (Ginger) Starr Fischer , 66, of Center, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Longview.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 28, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Center. Interment will follow at a Starr Cemetery in Elkhart at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Born November 12, 1958, in Palestine, TX, Ginger is the daughter of Lester Ford Starr and Kathleen Bradley Starr.  She taught school for thirty-nine years, a career she loved.  Ginger never met a stranger, and she often found joy in ministering to others.  Cooking was her favorite pastime, and she often enjoyed taking time to see the colors of the clouds and sunsets, but her family was her greatest love.  Ginger attended Lonestar Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Fischer; children, James Fischer Jr., Sara and husband Zachary Gean, Molly and husband Michael Grimes, and Starla Fischer; grandchildren, Joshua Grimes and Hannah Grimes; brothers, Bradley Starr and wife Glenda, Roy Starr and wife Judy, Sam Starr and wife Terrie; sisters, Joyce Felton, Mary Louise Thompson, Janyce and husband Lynn Sparkman, Darleen Starr, Alice and husband Kenny Day, and Emily Lee; mother-in-law, Barbara Fischer; sisters-in-law, Beverly Starr and Janet Fischer; brother-in-law, Jason Fischer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Lester Ford Starr and Kathleen Bradley Starr; brother, Neal Starr; father-in-law, William Fischer Jr.; brothers-in-law, Ben Felton, Morris Thompson, and Craig Fischer.
