Vince Bauwens , 82, husband of Delores Halliburton Bauwens, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home Chapel.

Vince was born February 5, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa to Rudolph Bauwens and Ellen McNeeley Bauwens. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service, during which he received three Purple Hearts. He was an avid reader and loved NASCAR and football.

Vince is survived by his wife, Delores Halliburton Bauwens of Center; daughter, Shawn Lowater and family of Center; sons, Scott Bauwens of Montana and Pat Bauwens of California; sister, Debra McQuarrie of Nevada; sisters in law, Linda Walden of Center, Anitra Harris and husband Terry of Carthage, Peggy Smith of Center; grandson, William Walden of Center; other special family, Ricky and Carolyn Harkness, Wayne and Shirley Harkness, Joe And Ricky Kay Harkness; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

Vince was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Bauwens; parents, Rudolph Bauwens and Ellen McNeeley Bauwens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library, The Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
