Obituary

Tommy Jay Lilly , 83, of Joaquin, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2014 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Monroe Mercer, Bro. David Long and Bro. Harold Hanson officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson Cemetery in Joaquin.

Mr. Lilly was born May 25, 1931 in Tenaha to Jake Lilly and Lottie Hooper Lilly. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of Jackson Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin where he served as teacher of the Open Door Sunday School Class. Mr. Lilly had served as Minister of Music for over 20 years at Liberty Baptist Church and Rose Park Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Wife of 62 years: Tillie Hamilton Lilly of Joaquin

Daughter: Lisa Hedges and husband Doug of Shreveport, Louisiana

Son: Stephen Jay Lilly and wife Misty of Joaquin

Pallbearers will be Austin Hedges, Jared Hedges, Jeb Barney, Jonathan Baker, Jeff Hamilton, Jimmy Hamilton, Jake Lilly and Jackson Lilly. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Kay, Larry Miller, Eddie Pierce, Jimmy Boyd, Frenchie Kyle and James Levee.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jackson Cemetery Association or to the charity of your choice.
