Obituary

Steve Hughes, 58, of Joaquin, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 at a Shreveport hospital. He was born June 25, 1951 in Orange to Frank Hughes and Betty Crump Hughes. Mr. Hughes has been the mayor of Joaquin for many years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Tommy Ford officiating. Interment will follow at Sholar Cemetery in Joaquin.

Pallbearers will be Newton Johnson, Larry Weaver, Chuck Spann, Sam Watts, Mike Wood, Shawn Murray, Chuck Raymond and James Raymond.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Pridgen, Richard Pridgen, Randall Crump, Joe Wilkins, Travis Rodgers and Kenneth Spurlock.
