Shirley Booth Middleton, 88, of Bedford, formerly of Center, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 at a Bedford hospital. She was born November 29, 1920 in Center to Verner Booth and Bess Hill Booth. Ms. Middleton was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Center, where she was also a long-time Sunday school teacher. Ms. Middleton was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and was a very charitable person. She taught Spanish in Center & Shelbyville, and worked at Middleton Milling for many years after the death of her husband Martin.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 23, 2009 at The First Baptist Church in Center with Rev. Carl Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.
