Kay was born on November 9, 1962, to the late Ed and Baby Ruth Sherrill. She attended Center schools, where she spent her early years. On May 29, 1980, Kay married the love of her life, Buck Green, and together they shared nearly 50 wonderful years of love, devotion, and cherished memories.

Kay devoted her life to loving and caring for her five beloved children: Keith, Bobby, Jo, Rodny, Jeffrey, and Thomas. Her greatest joy was her family, and the love she poured into them will forever remain in their hearts.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Buck Green; sons, Thomas Green (Brandi), Jeffrey Green, Bobby Green, and Rodney Green; grandchildren, Hunter Bo, Tripp, Bryan (Jennifer), Scott (Brittney), Marissa (Caleb), Madison (Glen), Haley, and Destini; brothers, Harold Sherrill (Connie) and James Sherrill. She also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her son, Keith Green; daughter, Melissa Kay; father, Ed Sherrill; mother, Baby Ruth Sherrill; and sisters, Linda Quigley and Patricia Sherrill.
