Scott Owens, 48, of Joaquin, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010. He was born December 19, 1961 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Richard Owens and Lucille Lawson Owens. Scott had been a coach and teacher at Joaquin ISD since 2003. He had also previously coached and taught at Rockdale, Garrison and Grapeland. Scott was a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Joaquin ISD Gymnasium with Bro. Charles Williams and Bro. Randy Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Price Cemetery in Joaquin.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Baker, Steve Smith, Mark Lawrence, and Jimmy Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Baker, Trevor Baker, Kolt Adkison and Klay Adkison.
