Roy L. Permenter, 66, of Shelbyville passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Life Care Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born in Shelby County on August 7, 1945 to Thomas Bryant Permenter and Nellie Taylor Permenter. Mr. Permenter was a member of Pipefitters Local #195. He attended Mt. Calvary Full Gospel Church.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Windham officiating. Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery in Huxley.

Pallbearers will be Ron Permenter, Dennis Permenter, Michael Jarrell, Buck E. Furlow, Sam Permenter, Jr. and Wesley Permenter. Honorary pallbearers will be Huie Permenter, Phillip Chambliss and Ricky Plunkett.
