Roy Denver Byrd Sr. , 70, of Joaquin, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019, in Center.

Mr. Byrd's wishes were to be cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Byrd was born March 15, 1949, in Joaquin, to Henry Byrd and Ruby Moore Byrd.

He is survived by his children, Chester Byrd and wife Katie of Nacogdoches, Roy Byrd Jr. of Joaquin, Viola Byrd of Joaquin, Casey Robison of Center, Teresa Chardt and husband Dean of Arkansas, and Delisa Carroll and her husband of Center; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Weldon Byrd of Gary, Lenard Wayne Byrd of Carthage, and Mattie Lee of Gary; special nephews and niece, Dusten Byrd, Lucas "Booger" Byrd, Mason Byrd, and Skylar Harvey.

Preceded in death by parents, Henry Byrd and Ruby Moore Byrd Billingsley and brother, William Byrd.
