Robert Vanlandingham , 86, of Shelbyville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in Center. He was born on June 4, 1938, in Gilmer, Texas.

A celebration of his life will be held at Patroon Baptist Church (984 FM 2261, Shelbyville, TX) on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Kevin Windham will officiate.

Bob married Opal in 1971, and they were blessed with five children between them, Stephen and Diane (Bob's children) and Larry, Terry, and Stanley (Opal's children). They had no children together. Bob worked in many places and was talented in carpentry, welding, and repair of just about anything. He retired as a Correctional Officer in the State of Texas penal system and was known for his dedication and hard work. Bob had a passion for fishing, traveling, and working around the house. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and exploring new places. Bob's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
