, 79, of Center, passed away Tuesday,
August 20, 2013 at Nacogdoches Medical Center in Nacogdoches.
He was born November 30, 1933 in Timpson to
Vause Hughes and Jewell Crump Hughes.
Mr. Hughes served in the United States Army.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2013 at Watson & Sons Chapel. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Center.
Pallbearers will be Michael Ramsey, Lester Hughes, Robert Ramsey, Brent Hughes, Tom H. Collins and Bobby Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Chili Jones, Ben Clifton, Lee Roy Terry, Joe Ford, Doyle Luman, Chester Mills, Jessie Mims, Lowell Cooper, John Schoenrock, Johnny Covington and Jason Covington.
He is survived by
Wife: Sandra Collins Hughes of Center
Son: Lance Hughes and wife, Bridget of Timpson
Granddaughter: Holly Colleen Hughes of Timpson
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives
Preceded in death by
Parents: Vause Hughes and Jewell Crump Hughes
Grandson: Jacob Brent Hughes
Brother: B.W. Hughes
Sister: Berniece Hughes Ramsey
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jacob Hughes Duck's Unlimited Fund at Shelby Savings Bank in Center.
