Obituary

Richard A. Chote, 76, of Yantis was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Hospice of East Texas, Tyler, Texas. He was born September 15, 1935, in Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas to Wallace Ira Ellis Chote and Martha Catherine Boone Chote. He served in the United States Army April 14, 1958 to April 13, 1964. Upon discharge, he went to work at Southwest Tablet Company in Dallas, Texas. While working there, he met Peggy Jean Tyre. They married on January 11, 1966 in Dallas, Texas. In 1972, they moved to Shelbyville, Texas and opened a donut shop in Center, Texas. Later, they started the Center Printing Company, retiring from the day-to-day in July 1989. Richard enjoyed fishing, gardening and attending festivals, such as the Poultry Festival in Center where they would display their woodworking that they loved and the Syrup Festival in Henderson, Texas where he showed how the old antique printing presses worked.
