Raymond C. Payne , 92, of Laplace, Louisiana, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Shelbyville with Bro. Bobby Warr officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Mr. Payne was born September 5, 1921 in Shelbyville to Hillard Payne and Lilly Metcalf Payne. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a member of the 79th Engineers Battalion. Mr. Payne was a member of Fair Park Masonic Lodge #436 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Daughter: Dolores Payne Gennaro and husband, Anthony of Laplace, Louisiana

Son: Randall R. Payne and wife, Zelma of Lumberton, Mississippi
