Obituary

Rayford Earl Danley of Joaquin, Devoted Husband, Loving Father, Beloved Grandfather and Great Grandfather.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Logansport Missionary Baptist Church with visitation beginning at Noon.  Bro. Joe Walker will officiate.

Born in Aiken, TX on June 9th, 1941, and passed from this Earth to his Heavenly Home on May 6th, 2024, in Shreveport, LA.

Earl spent his life with his first wife, Melba Faye Danley of 40 years, in Baytown, TX. He retired from Merichem after spending 27 years of hard work and dedication. During his tenure, he invented a 'black box' that was proven to save the company a lot of money. Earl was known as 'Mr. Fixit'. He loved to deer hunt and fish every spare moment. He also had a passion for woodworking. After the death of Melba, Earl retired and moved to his property in Joaquin, TX. After some time, he met Lula Belle Jansen and they chose to wed and spent the next 20 years together enjoying life.

Earl was a devoted member and deacon at Logansport Missionary Baptist church. He was known for always bringing chicken and dumplings for the church gatherings and taking care of anything that broke.
