Paul Thomas Mouser , 89, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020, in Shelbyville.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center with Bro. Michael McArthur officiating.
Born November 22, 1930, in Groveton, he was the son of the late John Mouser and Annie Lou Rogers Mouser. Mr. Mouser graduated from Joaquin High School and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later began working in the oil field, where he spent his entire career. He retired as the area drilling superintendent for offshore operations in the Gulf of Mexico. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, dancing, travelling, and camping. He was cherished by his grandchildren and he enjoyed attending their activities. Mr. Mouser was always willing to offer a helping hand to others. He loved Jesus Christ and his church. He served as a deacon at Haslam Baptist Church and was most recently a member of First Baptist Church in Center, where he served as a deacon and was also involved in the Golden Harvest Club. Mr. Mouser was a member of Joaquin Masonic Lodge #856 and Order of Eastern Star Chapter #903 in Joaquin.
He is survived by his children, Paula Kay and husband Buddy of Shelbyville, Thomas Mouser and wife Karen of Grandbury, Nathan Mouser and wife Kathy of Lindale, Angela Hughes and husband Hayes of Mandeville, Louisiana, and Annette Ethridge and husband Drew of McKinney; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Mouser; great granddaughter, Ashley Faith Modisette; parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Mouser's grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Joaquin Class of 1948, Harold Hanson, Robert Bailey, Bill Irish, Earl Midkiff, Jackie Morris, and Bob Smithhart.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Texas Masonic Retirement Center, 1501 Division Street, Arlington, Texas 76012.
