Otis Crit Campbell , 81, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully February 20, 2023 at home.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Kerry Green officiating. Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery in Huxley.
Crit was born & raised in Huxley, Texas to the late Jim Fred Campbell and Callie (Furlow) Campbell. He was one of twelve children in his family. He was a graduate of Shelbyville High School. Crit married the late Bobbie Lynn English on April 10, 1959, was a member of the Iron Workers Local 135 and spent the next 56 years working and raising three sons. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, raising cattle, barbequing and spending time with family. He had many close friends in the community. Crit loved the Lord, and was a long-time faithful member of Dreka Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Campbell and wife Ellen of Lake Jackson, Lloyd Campbell and wife Pat of Danbury, Pete Campbell and wife Connie of Brackettville; sister, Kay Ballard and husband Stan; grandchildren, Rebecca, April, Ashley, Crystal, Katie, Steven, Callie, Beth, and Travis, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Justin McKnight, Hunter McKnight, Colton McKnight, Steven Campbell, Alex Vela, and Travis Cherry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Scarber, and Marty Scarber.
Special thanks to Gracie and Bob Skiles for the friendship and care given to Crit over the past few years.
