Norwood O. Lowery's life on earth ended as his new journey in heaven began on December 25, 2011. He was 85 years old. Norwood served in World War II as a member of the United States Navy in the Pacific. He loved the Texas oilfield and specialized in International Oilfield Sales. In 1964, he moved his young family to Libya and became a member of the international N.O.M.A.D organization. He was proud to be a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Scottish Rite. Norwood was also a member of First United Methodist Church Pasadena. He loved to paint woodwork and spend time creating his "little house." He was especially proud of his wooden Texas flags; one of which is displayed in a Texas courtroom. He was referred to as "Big Bird" by his grandchildren and all who knew and loved him.
