Norris Roberson Taylor

Graveside service for Norris Roberson Taylor, 74, of Joaquin, Texas, will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Jackson Baptist Church Cemetery, Joaquin, Texas.  Officiating the service will be Melba Rogers and Frank Jousan.

Norris was born February 8, 1950, in Center, Texas, to Woodrow and Mary Louise Taylor and passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Joaquin, Texas.

Norris graduated from Joaquin High School in 1968. He married Wanda Jo Haight December 25, 1972.  He had a career in welding and was a fourth-generation Shelby County farmer and rancher.

Norris is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Mary Louise; sister, Virginia; and brother, Morris.  Surviving are his wife, Jo Taylor; son, Stacy Taylor and wife Jesse of Joaquin; son, Justin Taylor and wife Pam of Shelbyville; granddaughters, Haley Taylor and fiancé Matt Gamble, Stella Taylor, Gracie Ellis, and Rilynn Ellis; grandsons, Rowdy Taylor, Rory Taylor, Tucker Taylor, Toby Taylor, and Dusty Taylor; great-grandson, Lawson Gamble; sisters-in-law, Mickey Revis of Dickinson, Texas, and Jane Gamble of Grand Cane, Louisiana; nieces, Libby Lang and husband Steven, Hannah Gamble-Gramm and husband Zack; great-nieces, Madison Lang and Annistyn Touchton; and special friend, Jeannie Taylor.

Honoring Norris as pallbearers will be Toby Taylor, Rowdy Taylor, Rory Taylor, Dusty Taylor, Matt Gamble, and Bill Baker.  Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Alford and John Hugh Leggett.
