Michael McGhen , 73, of Center, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021, in Center.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 13, 2021, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Don Windham officiating.  Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Center.

Born October 10, 1947, in Timpson, Michael is the son of Paul Charles McGhen and Annie Lavern Permenter McGhen.  He joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served 10 years.  Later, Michael worked as a maintenance man for 32 years.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine McGhen, to whom he would have been married 47 years this October; son, Leonard "Mike" McGhen and wife Melissa McGhen; grandchildren, Ashton McGhen, Rebekah McGhen, Presley McGhen, and Ethan McGhen; nieces, Pam Sowell and husband Michael and Misty Thornton and husband Richard; nephew, Charles McGhen; seven great nieces; three great nephews; and one great great nephew.

Preceded in death by his son, Clay McGhen; daughter, Tina McGhen; parents, Paul Charles McGhen and Annie Lavern Permenter McGhen; and brothers, Paul McGhen and Arthur McGhen.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Burns, Michael Sowell, Kyle Windham, Jason Windham, Brandon Bennett, and Steven Andrusick.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Arnold, Melvin Broadway, Greg Fountain, and Richard Thornton.
