Mertie Lee Belsha, 91, of Center, Texas, passed away Friday, July 2, 2011 at Holiday Nursing Center. She was born September 21, 1919 in Patroon, Texas to Steven Henry Austin Walker and Virgie Lee McKinzie Walker. Mertie was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Center, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Sunday, July 3, 2011 and 8:00am to 9:00 pm, Monday, July 4, 2011 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Watson and Sons Chapel with Rev. Don Windham officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Center.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Burns, Michael Sowell, Leonard Michael McGhen, David Shires, "Bubba" McGhen and Kyle Windham. Honorary pallbearers will be James O'Neal Walker, Steven Brian Walker, William Wesley Walker, Kevin Gates, Scott Gates, Glen McNeil and Jason Windham.

She is survived by:

Daughter, Geraldine McGhen and Husband, Mike of Center.

Pam and Michael Sowell of Center, Michael and Melissa McGhen of Center, Charles McGhen of Center and Misti Thorton of Louisiana.
