Coach Bill Milam, 85, of Joaquin, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011 in Center. He was born on November 13, 1925 in Brownwood to Albert Feldman Milam and Lonie Mae Harwell Milam. Mr. Milam served in the U. S. Army as part of the 36th Division. He retired in 1986 as principal of Joaquin High School. Prior to his retirement he was a teacher and coach for 39 years. Mr. Milam was a 50 year member of Joaquin Masonic Lodge #856 in Joaquin. He served for over 10 years as a director of the Hinkel Schillings Fox Pen in Huxley and he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Haslam.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 5, 2011 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Haslam with Bro. Jody Hooper and Bro. Elmer Mathews officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at Joaquin Cemetery under the direction of Joaquin Lodge #856.
Pallbearers will be Micky Morris, Rodney Dean, Paul Mouser, James Bass, Cotton Wilburn and Nolan Cooper.
