Mavis Hughes (Shofner) , 90, of Timpson, passed away March 8, 2013 at Garrison Nursing Home in Garrison. She was born September 20, 1922 in Shelbyville to Van Buren Shofner and Susie Corbell Shofner. Mavis married Harold Hughes on March 9, 1944 and they were married for sixty-six years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Timpson.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Anderson, Glyn Yarbrough, Kirby Ramsey, John Ramsey, Billy Mack Ramsey and Patrick Ramsey.

She is survived by
