Mattie Frank Willingham Wyatt, 90, of Center, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Pine Grove Nursing Center. She was born October 1, 1918 in Center to W. W. Ballard, Sr. and Mattie Lou McLendon Ballard. Ms. Wyatt was an auxiliary member of Gideons International, a member of the First Baptist Church in Center, where she taught the Dorcas Sunday School Class for many years, a member of the Golden Harvest Club and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an avid "42" player and loved to fish.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, September 25th at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, September 26th at the First Baptist Church in Center with Rev. Carl Smith and Rev. Michael Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.
Pallbearers will be John Wyatt, Stephen Wyatt, Joel Campbell, Kerry Lucas, Phillip Coffman and Jimmy Fischer. Honorary Pallbearers will be 1st Lt. Thomas Eckerfield, USMC, Larry Ballard and David Baine.
