Mary Ruth Warr Scates , 73, of Center, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, in Nacogdoches.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Salem Cemetery in Shelby County with Bobby Warr officiating.

Born December 2, 1948, Mary is the daughter of Liddie "Lid" Luman Warr and Earnest Green Warr.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Scates of Center; son, Larry Scates and April of Center; grandchildren, Aaron Scates and Connor Scates; sister, Betty Prior and Travis of Longview; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Liddie "Lid" Luman Warr and Earnest Green Warr; and brothers and sisters, Noah Velt Warr, Florene "Cricket" Vandergriff, Billy Warr, E.C. Warr, L.C. Warr, Bobby Warr, Ruby Smith, Homer Warr, Shirley Nethery, and Freddy Warr.
