Obituary

Mae Walling Barron, 94, of Center, Texas passed away Saturday, December 6, 2008 at her residence in Center. She was born March 4, 1914 in Houston, Texas to Dick walling and Polly Humphries Walling. Mrs. Barron taught school in the Center Independent School District for over forty years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Women's Reading Club. Mrs. Walling was also a Boy Scout Leader and worked with MHMR as a volunteer. She was a member of Center First Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Barron is survived by her husband: Jack C. Barron of Center; daughter, Polly Barron Smith and husband Larry of Center; two grandchildren: Anne Bessinger and husband Glenn of Longview and John Richard Lane of Corpus Christi; one great-grandchild: Michael Barron Carroll of Longview. She is preceded in death by a son, Jack Walling Barron.
