Lorene Ross , 98, of Joaquin, passed away January 18, 2020, in Carthage.

Graveside service will be held at Noon, Friday, January 24, 2020, at Lone Cedar Cemetery in Joaquin with Bro. Wade Rector officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at Watson & Sons Funeral Home, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Mrs. Ross was born December 18, 1921, in Shelby County, to Russell Brawley and Lena Smothermen Brawley.  Her hobbies included making quilt tops and jellies, working with her flowers, and chewing Red Man Chewing Tabacco.

She is survived by her son, John Ross Sr. of Joaquin; daughter, Cimmaron Parks of Trinity; daughter-in-law, Betty Posey of Carthage; brother, Lee Brawley of Corpus Christi; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Ross; son, Robert "Bob" Ross; and parents, Russell Brawley and Lena Smothermen Brawley.
