Lonnie B. Cox
, 88, of Center, passed away Friday,
September 6, 2013 at Green Acres Nursing Home in Center.
He was born October 29, 1924 in Mineral,
Texas to Earnest Weston Cox and Susan Margaret Baugh Cox.
Mr. Cox joined the United States Marine Corps,
were he served during World War II.
He
later joined the United States Air Force in 1945 and retired in 1966. During
his enlistment in the Air Force, he served in both Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Cox
was a member of VFW Post #8904 in Center. He was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with Bro. Carl Smith and Bro. Mike Belgard officiating. A Military Honors Graveside service will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Adam Cox, Richard Pinkston, Charles Rogers, Jeremy Pits, Josh Price, Chris Marchbanks, Toby Sharp, Ryan Sharp, Kyle Sharp, Allen Kimbro and Ryan Pinkston.
