Obituary

Leo Edward Greathouse, 77, of Joaquin, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Twin Lakes Nursing Center in San Augustine surrounded by his loving family.

Leo was born to the late William and Nellie Greathouse on August 29, 1933 in DeKalb, Texas. He graduated from DeKalb High School in 1950 and received a degree in Accounting from the University of Houston in 1960. Leo served our country in the Army in the early 1950's and was stationed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he met his wife Carol. They married September 1, 1956.

He worked in the natural gas and pipeline industries in the accounting department, living in Chicago, Illinois and Salt Lake City, Utah. Leo returned to Houston and retired in the late 1980's and moved back to East Texas where he went into the chicken and cattle business.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Watson and Sons Chapel with Bro. Frank Thompson and Bro. Grady Fountain officiating. At Leo's request, he will be cremated and his ashes will be spread at his son's ranch in Joaquin.

Leo was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed.
