Joyce Smith, 82, of Center, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008, at her home. She was born February 4, 1926 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Robert Edgar Pell and Francis Jeanette Quarls Pell. Ms. Smith was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Center and was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Friday, September 5 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 6 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Newbern Cemetery in Center.

Pallbearers will be Bob Mooney, Jr., Bryan Mooney, Kenny Smith, Jason Smith, Phillip Smith and David Davis.
