Obituary

Jose Guadalupe Luna Quevedo, 71, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2026, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Center with Father Padre Alpidio Lopez officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Born August 17, 1955, in Cerritos, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico, Jose is the son of Jose Concepcion Luna Pozas and Maria Dolores Quevedo Rubio. He dedicated his career to helping individuals with disabilities gain greater independence and mobility. Through his skilled work in wheelchair repairs and modifications, wheelchair lift installations, and adaptive vehicle conversions, he made a meaningful difference in the lives of those he served.

Outside of his work, he found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved a good motorcycle ride, enjoyed bowling, and treasured spending time with family and friends. Whether it was sharing stories over a cup of coffee at IHOP or Waffle House or simply enjoying good company, those moments brought him joy. One of his favorite routines was talking on the phone with his younger brother, Juan Luna Quevedo, sometimes even twice a day. Their conversations were a special part of his everyday life.

Affectionately known as "Gallo," a nickname that perfectly reflected his one-of-a-kind personality, he was a man whose presence could never go unnoticed. He took great pride in his family and cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved, especially during life's most difficult moments. His family meant the world to him, and being together was one of his greatest joys.

Gallo was also blessed with wonderful friendships throughout Louisiana, where he was surrounded by people who cared deeply for him. He shared a special bond with his buddies, especially those at Independence Lodge, who became an important part of his life. Their friendship, companionship, and the memories they created together brought him happiness and a sense of belonging. He was truly loved not only by his family, but also by the many friends who had the privilege of knowing him.

Above all, Gallo will be remembered for his unforgettable personality, the love he had for his family and friends, and a laugh that was truly unlike any other. Though his voice may now be silent, the sound of his laughter, the stories he shared, and the memories he created will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

As we say our earthly goodbyes, we find comfort in God's promise of eternal life and in the hope that this farewell is not forever. We pray that the Lord welcomes Gallo into His heavenly kingdom, where there is no more pain, sorrow, or suffering, only everlasting peace and love. May the same hands that guided him throughout his life now lead him into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Until the day we meet again, his memory will remain a blessing, his love will remain in our hearts, and his unforgettable laughter will forever echo in our memories.

Rest peacefully in God's loving embrace, Gallo. You were deeply loved, you will be greatly missed, and you will never be forgotten.
