Obituary

John Rogers Porter, Jr., 91, of Center passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Nacogdoches. He was born December 24, 1920 in Homer, Louisiana to John Rogers Porter, Sr. and Cynthia Elizabeth Brittain Porter. Mr. Porter was retired from the carpentry business and had worked for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of Center Missionary Baptist Church and served in the Army Air Corps.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM Monday, June 25, 2012 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Pat Windham officiating. Interment will follow at Folsom Chapel Cemetery in Center.

Pallbearers will be John Richards, Pete Tallant, Chris Wood, Raymond Wood, Levi Willoughby and Bobby Addison. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Ross, Jay Watlington and Lonnie Chance.
