John Pope, 78, of Nacogdoches, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 in Nacogdoches. He was born February 28, 1934 in Madisonville to James Pope and Bonnie Thompson Pope. Mr. Pope served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Blackjack Cemetery with Rev. Billy Vaughn Waller officiating. Military honors will follow under the direction of VFW Post #8904.
Pallbearers will be John Pope, Jeremy Pope, Jordan Griffith, Chris Handlin, Cliff Golsbey and DJ Burks. Honorary pallbearer will be Dawson Pope.
