John Bruce Martin , 87, of Joaquin, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. David Long and Bro. Harold Hanson officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Mr. Martin was born August 7, 1928, in Joaquin, to Willfred B. Godfrey Martin and Annie Bell English Martin. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed raising cattle. Mr. Martin loved his family, his friends and his church. He was a member of Jackson Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin and was a Past Worshipful Master of Joaquin Masonic Lodge #856.

Wife: Joyce Martin of Joaquin

Daughter: Sharon Peddy and husband, Bob, of Tyler

Son: Ronny Martin and wife, Tracy, of Tomball

Pallbearers will be Kyle Martin, Justin Martin, Trevor Martin, Jared Weaver, Jason Trent and Ricky Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Vance Jordan, Buren Lowe, James Howell, Daryl Alford, Ken Kaye and the Joaquin Masonic Lodge #856.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mr. Martin's name to Jackson Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.
