John Wesley Holt Sr., age 64, passed away early Monday, April 23, 2012 at Pine Grove Nursing Center after a short battle with cancer. He was born June 8, 1947, in Center to Buren Wesley Holt and Idell Ross Holt and was a lifelong resident of Center. In August of 1968, he married the love of his life, Cathy Scott Holt and the two have been together ever since. He was a licensed barber since 1969 and owned and operated Holt's Barber Shop on Hurst Street in Center. Prior to that, he worked at Hallmark Center Fixture Operations (previously Center Plywood) for over twenty years and cut hair part time. He was a member of Center Church of the Nazarene.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. James Higginbotham officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Parker, Alpha Fields, Keith Byndom, Michael Parrish, K.L. (Kasey) Metcalf, Franky Adams and Tommy Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Darnese Parrish, Tom Stack and Charles Paul Hughes.
