John Lawrence Evans, 55, of Joaquin, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at a Houston hospital. He was born September 19, 1955 in Woodville to Tommy Earl Evans, Sr. and Laurence Johnson Evans. John was a member of First United Methodist Church in Joaquin.

At the family's request, Mr. Evans has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Joaquin with Bro. Paul Silvey and Bro. Randy Smith officiating.

He is survived by:

Wife, Karen Kay Evans of Joaquin

Son, Steven Robert John Evans of Joaquin

Brother, Tommy Earl Evans and wife, Jo of Sulphur Springs

Sisters:
Barbra Yost and husband, Dr. Fred Yost of Boling Green, Kentucky
Wanda Steen and husband, Paul Steen of Woodville
