Joel Wayne Porter , 48, of Center, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, in Center.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Born October 3, 1972, Joel is the son of James Grover Porter and Regina Williams. His hobbies included fishing, riding four-wheelers, farming, riding his tractor, and talking about Jesus.  Joel was a loving father and grandfather.  He was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by his daughter, Jalyric Porter of Nacogdoches; granddaughter and love of his life, Jamila Anderson; mother, Regina Williams of Center; brother, John Patrick Porter of Nacogdoches; sisters, Jana Hagler of Center, Amelia Kai Bryant (Jasson) of Fort Worth, Jai Brisbon of Nacogdoches, Jennifer Fernum of Louisiana, and Bonnie Bittick of Muskegon, Michigan; uncles, LaMoine Williams of Lufkin, Michael W. Williams (Brenda) of Wills Point, John Wynus Porter (Lisa) of Appleby, and Joel Porter (Jackie) of Fort Worth; aunts, Jean Marie Hart (Lynn) of Center and Janette Purvis and husband of Shreveport, Louisiana; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Grover Porter.
