Jerrold "J.W." Hughes , 78, of Center, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020, in Tyler.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2020, at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. Bro. Gordon Vaughn will officiate.

Born February 27, 1942, J.W. is the son of the late Vernice Hughes and Myrtle Holicer Hughes. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Hughes of Center; children, Derrick Hughes and wife Inez of Center and Shannon Lee and husband Greg of Center; grandchildren, Autumn Hughes, Cam Lee, and Arista Lee; brother, Fred Hughes and wife Judy of Lufkin; special nieces, Joyce Bush, Katha Hughes, Donna Hughes, and Suzette Hughes; special cousin and friend, Jason Burch of Center; and fur baby, Bear.

Preceded in death by his parents, Vernice Hughes and Myrtle Holicer Hughes; and sister, Delores Gene Hughes.

Pallbearers will be Greg Lee, Cam Lee, Jason Burch, Michael McMahon, Michael Henry Bush, and Otis Pleasant. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael David Bush, Bo Chandler, Ryan Chandler, and Tyler Burch.
