James E. Owens, 68, of Huxley, passed away June 3, 2012 at his home in Huxley. He was born April 5, 1944 to James S. Owens and Selma M. Oswalt Owens. Mr. Owens was a member of Lydia Missionary Baptist Church in Huxley. He retired from the City of Huxley after twenty-one years of service. Mr. Owens was a guide on Toledo Bend Lake for many years.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Wes Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery in Huxley.
