James Rogers McCann, 76, of Stonewall, Louisiana, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at a Shreveport hospital. He passed away peacefully after a long battle with heart disease. He was born June 21, 1934 in Tenaha, Texas to Willie Carter McCann and Lila Joplin McCann. Jim grew up in Basile, Louisiana but returned to Tenaha to finish high school and marry his high school sweetheart, Juana Bowlin. He was employed by Kast Metals Foundry in Shreveport for 28 years, and was also on the Caddo Parish School Board for 13 years, having retired from both. When his wife retired from Highland Hospital in 1999, they moved back to Tenaha and enjoyed retirement for over 11 years. They recently moved to Stonewall to be near their children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Keith Keele officiating. Interment will follow at Ramah Cemetery in Tenaha.
Pallbearers will be Fred Ebey, III, John Ebey, James Pitman, Chad Pitman, Todd Boone and Keith Martin.
