James R. Dickerson, 74, of Joaquin, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at a Shreveport hospital. He was born March 15, 1936 in Shelby County to Ray A. Dickerson, Sr. and Era Dell Glaze Dickerson. Mr. Dickerson was a Deacon at Fellowship Baptist Church in Joaquin. He was also a member of Joaquin Masonic Lodge #856.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Fodge and Bro. Rodger Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Joaquin.

He is survived by:

Wife, Joan Leggett Dickerson of Joaquin

Son, Bob Dickerson & wife Cathy of Joaquin

Daughter, Sandra Dickerson Bentley & husband Waynn of Lufkin
