James Ray Deason , 59, of Timpson, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022, in Nacogdoches.

Graveside service will be held at Noon, Monday, August 22, 2022, at Asbury Chapel Cemetery in Center with Bro. Gordon Vaughn officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.

Born August 24, 1962, James is the son of Mary Little and James Bryant.  He liked arts and crafts and would help anyone in need.  James was of the non-denominational faith, where he served as a minister.

He is survived by his wife, Lela M. Davis Deason of Timpson; brothers and sisters, John Paul Deason, Mark Samuel Deason, Jerry Lee Deason and Michelle, Elizabeth Cox, Felicia McFarland and Tim, and Billy M. Deason; stepchildren, Jody R. Grubbs III, Ricky Lynn Grubbs and Tammy, and Teresa Anne Grubbs.

Preceded in death by sister, Melinda Deason; and stepson, Michael W. Grubbs.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Reneau, Jody Grubbs III, Jason Monday, Tom Bush, and Weeks Crawford.
