James "Bill" Childs , 82, of Center, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019, in Livingston.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Powdrill Cemetery with Bro. Fred Childs officiating.

Mr. Childs was born November 23, 1936, in Center, to Larry Lewis Childs and Hazel Ellis Childs.  He retired from the United States Military, where he served in both the Marine Corps and Air Force.  Living at the river and fishing were what Mr. Childs enjoyed and he loved his grandchildren unconditionally.

He is survived by his sons, Jim Childs of Corrigan, John Childs of Texas; grandchildren, Melissa Long of Livingston, Jessica Cockrell of Apple Springs, Brittany Childs of North Carolina, Randy Childs of Lufkin, Brandy Graham of Lufkin; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Jean Bailey; brother, Bob Childs of Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
