James Arthur Blackman, 89, of Joaquin, passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Shreveport. He was born January 23, 1919 in Joaquin to John & Jenna Blackman. James was a member of Jackson Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, August 1, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2 at Watson & Sons Chapel in Center with Rev. Mike Cross officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.
