Jackie Michael Hughes, 69, of Joaquin, passed away March 30, 2012 in Val Verde County. He was born January 12, 1943 in Center to Jeffrey Milton Hughes and Lillie Mae Peace Hughes. He was a member of Deer Park Masonic Lodge #1362. Mr. Hughes was a machinist at Baker/Hughes Tool, where he retired after many years of service. He founded INSTREK, a company that developed and designed many medical instruments that are still being used today, as well as many products for the hunting industry. Mr. Hughes loved the outdoors and made a number of hunting trips to Africa, Alaska, and many other places in the United States. He enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Pat Windham officiating. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Deer Park Masonic Lodge #1362 and Sam Samford Masonic Lodge #149.
Pallbearers will be Deer Park Masonic Lodge #1362 and Sam Samford Masonic Lodge #149.
