Obituary

Jack Hawkins , 80, of Center, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Garrison Nursing Home in Garrison. He was born March 30, 1932 in Shelbyville to Pete Akin and Catherine Pullen Akin. Mr. Hawkins worked as a purchasing manager at Center Plywood for thirty-two years. He was involved in Kiwanis Club, was an Explorer Scout Leader and a Girls' Softball Coach. Mr. Hawkins was a member of First Baptist Church in Center.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012 at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale and Bro. Carl Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Pallbearers will be Randy Graves, Eric Graves, Todd Graves, Chad Carlton, Mark Gary and Roy E. Noble. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Sanders, Joe Anderson, Ben Sanford, Gene Gray, Billy Clyde Duncan, McNeil Moore, Chilly Jones, Doyle Luman and Gene Walker.
