Hugh William Rushing , 79, of Center, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in Nacogdoches.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2025, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Gordon Vaughn officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in San Augustine County.

Born April 14, 1946, Hugh is the son of Albert Rushing and Dura Mae Wheeler.  He served in the United States Army during Vietnam.  His hobbies included hunting, fishing, carpentry, going out to eat, and spending time with family on his farm.

He is survived by his children, Kimberly Sue Rushing Davis, Amanda Jo Rushing Wiggins and husband Brandon, and Pamela Faye Rushing Taylor and husband Justin; grandchildren, William Tye Reynolds and wife Sonya, Tristian Cole Reynolds and wife Ashley, Cameron Michael Reynolds, Matthew Ryan Reynolds and wife Brandi, Jayden Glenn Wiggins, Brylen Jace Wiggins, Toby Lane Taylor, and Dusty Lee Taylor; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Sue Francine Gardner and husband Don, Norma Jean Runnels, Anita Jackson and husband Larry, and Sherry Lynn Parks and husband Charles; special friend, Melvin and Margie Tomlin.

Preceded in death by wife, JoAnn Barbee Rushing; parents, Albert Rushing and Dura Mae Wheeler; and brothers, Nicky Leon Rushing and Albert Earl Rushing.

Pallbearers will be William Tye Reynolds, Tristian Cole Reynolds, Cameron Michael Reynolds, Matthew Ryan Reynolds, Jayden Glenn Wiggins, Brylen Jace Wiggins, Toby Lane Taylor, and Dusty Lee Taylor.
