Huey P. Myers, 81, of Joaquin, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Shelby County on October 21, 1930 to George E. Myers and Flora Kilpatrick Myers. In 1952, Mr. Myers enlisted in the United States Army. He later worked as a Foreman at E.L. Bruce Company, where he retired after 36 years of service. He was a member of Old Home Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 2, 2012 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Old Home Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin with Rev. Hollis Bass officiating. Interment will follow at Old Home Cemetery in Joaquin.
Pallbearers will be Joe Hensley, Charles Scott, Wayne Wheeler, Nathan Ragsdell, Christopher Johnson and Josh Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers will be Old Home Missionary Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class.
